First Place
Winner, Rose Macrina’s
flower garden was loved by the judges for a number of
reasons including the variety of plant material used,
the seasonality and vibrant color of her flower and plant
selections, the effective use of a small lot, the creative
use of flowers including containers and garden beds and
finally, Ms. Macrina’s obvious enthusiasm and
love for gardening with Massachusetts-grown flowers
and plants. |

Place - Jean Shaw of Middleboro |

Place Winner was Jean Shaw of Middleboro, whose well-maintained
garden showed a great use of annuals and a creative use of
limited space, according to the “Love
My Garden” contest judges, as well as having
a pleasing emphasis on the use of flowers to make the
most of limited space. |

Place - Mary Jones of Brockton |

Third
place was taken by Mary Jones, also of Brockton, whose colorful
mixed perennial garden showed a good use of both containers
and hanging baskets to complement the outdoor living area. |

Fourth
Place - Judith Dupont of East Falmouth |

Judith Dupont of East Falmouth
took fourth place with her beautiful Cape Cod flower garden
and its combination of annuals and perennials. The judges
noted the large and well-planned Dupont flower garden made
a wonderful use of containers.

Fifth
Place - Monica Kent of Chelmsford |
|
The well-maintained
Chelmsford flower garden of Monica Kent was chosen
as the fifth place winner for its winning use of
containers and its lovely mix of both annuals and perennials. |
